worker bee & drone

Posted by
daniela (Berlin, Germany) on 9 July 2013 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

not much of a macro but good enough to show you the difference in size of drones and worker bees - the left one is a working bee, also expelled.

If you go back to yesterday´s image, you also can see the differing eye-shapes etc.
This one had (like some others I watched) a dent/ dint? on the thorax. I have no idea what caused that but they also got sorted out. Hive-hygiene.
