Polygonatum odoratum

Posted by
daniela scharnowski (Berlin, Germany) on 7 January 2013 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Polygonatum odoratum, commonly known as Angular Solomon's-seal or Scented Solomon's-seal ( in german Echtes Salomonssiegel or Wohlriechende Weißwurz), is a plant species of the genus Polygonatum.

The entire plant is poisonous but used in different traditional medicines.

10 years ago I found a big population of it in the woods and carefully took one rhizome with me for the garden.
