This is just one of the many clutches of lilybeetle-eggs I found on sunday - and am a bit ashamed to say, they had no chance of hatching.
As many of you know, lilybeetles // Lilioceris lilii // Lilienhähnchen are my personal enemies and the only species I kill on purpose. (My record of the two days of last weekend was 21 beetles down plus a lot of eggs. I´m a bad person, probably. At least I don´t enjoy it.)
The tiny red eggs (< 1mm length) can be found on the bottom side of the green lily leaves, apparently there are 4-6 eggs per clutch / leaf.
The first year of that pest I found only beetles on our lilies - last year also on on fritillarias, and this year they also developed a taste for our many lilies of the valley... oh I hate that species and hope because of the long winter that we are able to find every m...f... last one of them before it´s too late for the flowers:(
Another thing - I noticed my sigma 105mm to not focus correctly lately- in the viewfinder I´m spot!on! but later I find the focus to be one or two millimeters (or less?) behind the actual focussing spot.
So now I called Sigma´s service and they say yea, can happen that the focus area wanders around - since I still have warranty on my prreccccious, they asked me to send it in - plus the camera :EEEEK:fainting:. At least she said, when the camera is send in also for adjusting the lens to it perfectly, the total time me being without my prrecccious will be one week. Oh god, I don´t feel good about this but I guess I need to be strong. So it´ll looks like dear old Panny has a comeback :]
Please respect my work.
