before /after

Posted by daniela scharnowski (Berlin, Germany) on 19 February 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

I just thought (and buy some time by posting that ;D) to show you the before - after pics of the latest restoring phase alltogether.
I could have done better on the second picture of great grandfather Paul - with the big scratch, but I didn´t. - gnagnagna, sue me.
Happy scrolling.

For the techies:
I did the scans on a very common Canon 3-in-1 scanner-printer-copier, nothing fancy, but I disabled ALL of the "enhancing" photoscan options (any photo editing software will do better) and set the resolution as high as possible (1000px/inch) - and then saved them as TIFF. (This takes up some nice megabites on the hds....)
Haven´t read any manuals on this, but these settings gave the best results so I stuck to them.
I worked on the pictures after converting to JPG (always highest quality) for the sake of my ram ;)

Please respect my work.
If you want to use my pictures just contact me. I´m a nice one & it won´t hurt, probably.
