Lina, Berta & Marie

To be honest I don´t know for sure who´s who... I only know these are the 3 elder sisters of my grandfather - who always have claimed to have been the 9th of eleven kids of a poor forest worker in East Prussia....(always made a good starting point for his stories ;D) but did a forest worker with eleven (!) kids had the money for a photographer w. studio around 1900 and dress them like this? hm...^^
We know he had many siblings - my dad got together the names of seven, incl his father. We think the other might have died very early, which was normal.

I love this picture for the beautiful composition!
A great photographer that was - giving the photo something of an old painting style. Interesting is the simple background here - haven´t seen many shots of this period with such a simple plain background yet - but a perfect choice! A painted scene would have been too distractive and not balanced.

For tomorrow I have prepared a collage of all the restored shots with their originals side by side.

Phil´s wonderful handcoloured work inspired me to try it myself on this.

Please respect my work.
If you want to use my pictures just contact me. I´m a nice one & it won´t hurt, probably.
