Prices around 1750

Posted by daniela scharnowski (Berlin, Germany) on 16 January 2012 in Lifestyle & Culture.

This isn´t much of a photo, pure documentation here, but the list with prices for food, livestock and household things as well as another list for wages around 1750 in and around Dresden fascinated me.
I´m too tired now for translating any of this, if you really want to know what any of this means you can try http://dict.leo.org/ for a proper translation :)

In regard to the wages above (e.g. a soldier / servant would have earned 2 thaler and 16 groschen ( 24 groschen were equal to 1 thaler)) per month!) in the book about the Countess´ life I bought is mentioned that all her total assets had been 624934 thalers in 1728. But in 1718 the King placed some curators who took care of her money instead of herself.
