The very reason why we had to wait more than 1 hour for the cranes *- sister sun decided to come out of her cloudy flat, where she hid the whole day. - But - what an appearance she had!
[* The cranes start leaving their feeding grounds not until dawn.]

@Loner: "mehrere Fotos" wäre stark untertrieben ;D Ich laß mich ja nicht vom wetter beeindrucken (dann eben iso200) wenn ich erstmal dabei bin ;) aber Glück mit dem Wetter hatten wir auf jeden Fall - einige Tage mit Sonne - dann wie oben - Tag grau und abends rosarotblau - dafür hattest du bestimmt die besseren Linsen ;)) Ganz herrliche Grüße nach Österreich - wo ich nebenbei bemerkt auch mal wieder hinmöchte - alle Kindheitssommer in Tirol verbracht - werde demnächst mal die alten Dias & Bilder von Vaddern einscannen.

Stunning - you did an amazing job of getting both the low light (right side) and the bright sun (left side). The perspective of the shoreline and the muted colors in the water just click it all together. Beautiful photograph.

The "secret" is to use spot metering, here I metered the reed on the right from the sun, where it was very bright, to capture more than just shadows.
