This is the turning bridge connecting the Darss peninsula with the land. The Meiningenbridge was built 1908 - 1912 as a railway bridge, the last train passed 1947, after WW2 the rails were tranferred to the soviets - as reparation. Since 1964 it´s only used by cars. It´s 470 m long and the turning part is on the left here - with the nice little house.

This shot was taken from a boat on the lagoon (Bodden) where we waited for the arrival of the cranes at their sleeping place, enjoying one of the most sensational sunsets I´ve ever seen. (tbc)
